In the last several podcast episodes we’ve been talking about various aspects of living a successful life from a Life On Purpose Perspective. And that exploration wouldn’t be complete without including a discussion about MONEY…again from a Life On Purpose Perspective.
If this happens to be your first episode of this podcast you may also want to check out episodes 004 and 006 that go into more depth some of the coaching distinctions we’ll be working on today. But for today, let’s start with a quick review of some of these foundational distinctions and then apply them to today’s topic of MONEY.
Point one: From the Life On Purpose Perspective, we say that we actually have not one but two purposes — two powerful forces that shape our lives. We have our true, or Divinely Inspired Life Purpose which is based in Universal Love, an experience of abundance and the ability to flow with life, and we have the Inherited Purpose based in fear, lack and struggling to survive.
Point two: Human beings operate in the world in relationship to the rest of the world around us. We experience the world in a relational way. For example, I have a relationship with those around me; also with the stuff around me. Those relationships may be positive, or negative or some combination. And what influences how positive or negative these various relationships are is determined in large part by which purpose is shaping that relationship at any given time.
So how might this apply to the subject of MONEY? Consider this — we all have a relationship to money that’s based in and shaped by the Inherited Purpose. In other words, as we grow up we develop a relationship to money that’s based in fear, lack and struggle. For the most part, we’ve been raised in an OFF PURPOSE World — one where fear, lack and struggle has predominated.
Realizing this may prove to be beneficial in itself but digging a little deeper and identifying what you’re particular IP relationship to money is can be truly transforming.
Example here: IP relationship to money
Once you’ve identified this IP relationship to money it opens you to the possibility of creating a new relationship to money that’s based in your Divinely Inspired Life Purpose — i.e. a relationship to money based in Universal Love, abundance and flow.
Consider this possible DILP Universal relationship to money: Money is one form of the infinite resources of the Universe available to us to be used in expressing and fulfilling our true Divinely Inspired Life Purpose.
