He thought a moment, then replied, “I want to design computer games.”
Did you notice? That’s the answer to a different question — “What do you want to do when you grow up?” Sound familiar?

It’s not surprising that my young friend answered a different question — many adults also have placed the “cart before the horse.
There’s a reason the horse is in front of the cart. It’s much easier for a horse to pull a cart than it is to push it. Pulling a cart simply works better.
And in the same way, it’s much easier to design a joyful, satisfying and successful life when you first answer the question:
“Who do I want to be when I grow up?”
But how do you answer such a question? Who am I? The question seems so hard to get your heart, hands and mind around. It’s not an easy question to answer.
But it is a worthwhile question. More than just worthwhile, it is THE question to answer, for when you do, the rest of life begins to fall into place…which is far better than having it fall apart.
