Yes, it’s true. I have to come clean. I’m in love with the runner up of American Idol, Katherine McPhee. In fact, I’ve been sleeping with her most every night lately. Ok, not quite. I’ve been going to sleep listening to her two songs, Over the Rainbow and My Destiny. You see, my whole family are Idol fans, in part because we happen to have a future American Idol in our midst, that is if my 14-year-old daughter, Amber, decides to go that direction in her life. (I must admit, I have mixed feelings about whether I really want her to try for it or not, but that’s for another time.)

Not only do I love Katharine’s amazing voice, I also enjoy her energy and her forthrightness. Coming clean with her history of an eating disorder was to me a real act of courage. And I love watching people pursue their dreams and life purpose with as much poise as Katharine has. So, Katharine, stay the course and stay true to yourself. I know it’ll be a challenge, given the current state of the music industry, but I know you can do it. And if you ever feel like you’re straying off your Purposeful Path, just give me a call.
