Why Trump (and the Repubs) wants you to vote for Jill, or Gary, or have Bernie run as Independent

Why Trump (and the Repubs) wants you to vote for Jill, or Gary, or have Bernie run as Independent: Trump (and Repubs) wins! But maybe not in the way you think. Here’s what I’d like to point out as a staunch Berniecrat who is as angry as anyone about how the DNC has mistreated our guy (and us). You’d think Jill or Bernie (as #FeeltheBern1Independent) could garner at least 34% of the votes in a general election, and you’d probably be right. Unfortunately, that won’t be enough to win the election. Okay, so we go to a runoff, right? Wrong.

First off, the general election is decided by the Electoral votes with the magic number being 270 or more. So, what happens if no presidential candidate gets 270 Electoral votes? Google that question and you’ll likely be shocked and maybe dismayed by the unfairness (once again. I know I was.) Here’s the short answer: “If no candidate receives a majority of Electoral votes, the House of Representatives elects the President from the 3 Presidential candidates who received the most Electoral votes.” And who which party has the majority in our esteem House of Reps? See where I’m going with this?

So, PLEASE, my fellow Bernicrats, take this little bit of information into account as you sort out who you’ll be voting for in November. I leave it to you to make what you feel in your heart is the wise choice given the present reality and rules of today.

By the way, I think it would behoove the BNC to change this little rule once it gets elected. In the meantime…vote with this in mind.
